The Bundesliga 2023/24 Season Calendar has been announced!
The German Football Association have announced when the new Bundesliga season will start. The Bundesliga 2023/24 season calendar starts on Friday 18th August 2023.
If you cannot wait that long to get started next season, tradition repeats itself with the Bundesliga 2 commencing three weeks earlier on Friday 28th July 2023. The season ends for both Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 over the weekend of 18th and 19th May 2024.
In the UK we are currently experiencing a Winter Break due to the World Cup, however in Germany this is normal and the Bundesliga 2023/24 season calendar see’s the Bundesliga break for winter after matchday 16 on 20th December 2023, reigniting once more on the 12th January 2024 (Bundesliga 2 recommences on the 19th January 2024).
Four other weekends will see no action during the Bundesliga 2023/24 season calendar and that is due to the international breaks for the National Team. These occur 9th/10th September 2023, 14th/15th October 2023, 18th/19th November 2023 and 23rd/24th March 2024.

When will the fixtures be announced?
Whilst we know the dates, it will be some time before we know the actual fixtures as the 2022/23 season will need to complete first. The fixtures for the current campaign were announced on June 17th 2022 so it could be Friday 16th June 2023 year, however with next season starting later than this one, we could see this occur on Friday 30th June 2023.
Bundesliga Opening Weekend History
The first match of the 2022-23 campaign saw Bayern Munich start in mouth-watering fashion as they defeated the Europa League Champions, Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1 away from home.
It is encouraging to know that since the Bundesliga began there has never been a 0-0 draw so we can expect goals whatever the fixture.
